Rules for Using Grave Lights and Refills:
- Do not use grave lights and refills indoors—they are designed exclusively for outdoor use.
- Match the size of the refill to the size of the grave light. To ensure safe and proper use, the refill should rest stably at the bottom of the grave light and not touch its walls.
- Although grave lights and refills are designed to withstand changing weather conditions, extreme temperatures can affect burning quality. In low temperatures, you may experience a low flame and tunneling, while in high temperatures, the wax may completely melt, potentially causing the flame to extinguish.
- Use grave lights on dedicated bases to protect gravestones from dirt and heat damage.
- The refill should be placed upright. Otherwise, the flame may burn through the tube or cause uneven burning.
- Do not move a lit grave light to avoid burns. Remember that the caps and metal parts can become hot from the flame.
- Keep grave lights away from flammable objects.
- The burn time of refills is calculated for optimal usage temperatures of 5 to 25°C. In other weather conditions, deviations of approximately +/-10% are possible.
- Do not contaminate the wax, e.g., with matchsticks or other foreign objects, as this can affect burning quality.
Safe Usage Rules for Candles:
- Always follow the instructions on the label or leaflet accompanying the candle. Improper use can pose safety risks. Keep products out of the reach of children and pets.
- Before lighting the candle, ensure the wick is straight, remove the packaging, and check that the candle is clean and free of damage, such as cracks or scratches.
- Immediately after lighting, the flame may be uneven or small. Once the entire surface of the wax melts, it will stabilize, ensuring even and proper burning.
- It is best to burn candles in cycles lasting a few hours. Allow an appropriate interval between cycles, especially when the entire wax surface has melted, to avoid tunneling.
- Avoid directly inhaling the smoke.
- Surrounding conditions affect burning quality. Ensure the candle is placed in a draft-free, well-ventilated area on a heat-resistant surface. The choice of accessories, such as candle holders, is also important—they should match the candle's size.
- Do not move a lit candle, as its surface may become hot and cause burns. Candles may also drip or discolor furniture, so always place them on appropriate bases that can withstand high temperatures.
- If you wish to extinguish a candle, snuff out the flame—never blow it out. After extinguishing, ventilate the room to remove any residual odor or smoke.
- Never use liquids to extinguish a flame.
- Always maintain a minimum distance of 10 cm between burning candles.
- A natural effect of burning may be deposits on the glass, which can easily be removed with a damp cloth once the candle has cooled.
- Regularly trim the wick to about 1 cm if it is too long or deformed.
- If you notice irregularities in burning, such as excessive smoking or a high flame, immediately extinguish the candle and allow it to cool. Check if the problem is caused by contaminated wax, an overly long wick, or unsuitable surrounding conditions. After addressing these issues, you can relight the candle.
Storage and Disposal Conditions:
- Store candles and refills in a cool, dry place at an optimal temperature of 10 to 25°C, away from sunlight and artificial light, which can cause discoloration and alter the product's appearance.
- Dispose of used containers from candles and grave lights in accordance with local guidelines. Reusing them or washing them in a dishwasher is not recommended, as paraffin residue can damage the appliance.
Summary
Follow the above rules to enjoy safe and comfortable use of candles and grave lights. Remember that proper use affects both your safety and the quality of their performance.
